Shaping the Future, Nurturing the Younger Generation
Yoma Yangon international Marathon (YYIM) has grown tremendously over the years from the first edition in 2013 with just around 1000 runners, evolving into the largest mass participation running event in Yangon with over 8000 runners in 2019!
It’s hardly surprising that YYIM has become one of the city’s most recognized and anticipated annual sporting event for both local and international runners, with its scenic route and great food and fun entertainments. Not forgetting our key initiative – ‘Run for Children’ which raises funds to improve the welfare of children, e.g. providing education for the less privilege.
Moving on to our 8th edition in 2020, we hope to further increase the registration number to 12,000 participants as we believe this event present a great opportunity to gather the Yangon community together in a joint effort to give back to the community. We welcome donations from all participants and public to support the youth and truly make a difference in their lives.
We are contributing to 5 key projects, which brought smiles to many faces:
1. YCDC Non-profit child daycare center for low income citizens
2. Myanmar Red Cross Society
3.Institute of Sports and Physical Education
4. M2030, fight Malaria disease
M2030 is a brand and movement with the goal of eliminating malaria in Asia by the year 2030. Through partnerships between businesses, consumers, and health organizations, M2030 raises awareness and funds for malaria elimination programs in Myanmar and across Asia. Together we can defeat malaria!
