Shaping the Future, Nurturing the Younger Generation

The Yoma Yangon International Marathon (YYIM) has grown tremendously since its first edition in 2013 with just around 1,000 runners, evolving into Yangon’s largest mass participation running event with over 10,000 runners in 2020!

It’s hardly surprising that YYIM has become one of the city’s most recognised and anticipated annual sporting events for both local and international runners, with its scenic route, vibrant atmosphere, and great food and entertainment. Not forgetting our key initiative – Run for Children – which raises funds to improve the welfare of children, including providing education for the less privileged.

As we move towards our 9th edition in 2026, this event continues to be a great opportunity to bring the Yangon community together in a joint effort to give back under our theme “Run for Children” — to strengthen our support for youth and empower future generations.

We welcome donations from all participants and the public to support the youth and truly make a difference in their lives. We are contributing to two key projects that have already brought smiles to many faces:

1. Step-in Step-up Academy

Step-in Step-up is a Myanmar-based nonprofit preparing local youth for entry-level employment through vocational training and life skills development. Their programs address critical global issues like human trafficking prevention and environmental awareness, while fostering personal growth and social responsibility in underserved communities.
